Nicolas Cage\u2019s<\/a> ex, Christina Fulton, is suing the actor and their son, Weston, over an alleged assault stemming from an April 2024 incident.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Weston, 34, and Fulton were allegedly involved in a verbal dispute that turned physical, an encounter she claims left her with \u201ccatastrophic\u201d physical, emotional and financial injuries.<\/p>\n

Fulton is accusing Cage, 61, of ignoring Weston\u2019s mental health concerns, according to legal documents<\/a> obtained by People. She is suing the pair for negligence and Weston for assault, battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress.<\/p>\n

\u201cWeston has a long history of mental and psychological disorder and a history of committing violent assault and battery and harming numerous individuals,\u201d the lawsuit states, filed in the Superior Court of California in Los Angeles County. (Global News has not independently viewed the legal documents.)<\/p>\n

Fulton also claims Cage \u201cenabled\u201d their son\u2019s alleged behaviour.<\/p>\n

\u201cNicolas has been aware of Weston\u2019s history and nevertheless failed to take action to prevent Weston from committing acts of violence and harming others,\u201d the suit reads, according to the outlet.<\/p>\n

In July, Weston was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon after allegedly punching and injuring<\/a> two victims, according to the Los Angeles Times. Los Angeles County arrest records show<\/a> Weston was released on July 10 after posting a $150,000 bond. Later that month, he pleaded not guilty to two felony counts. A hearing has been set for March 2025.<\/p>\n

Fulton later claimed<\/a> she was one of the victims and said she was \u201cbrutally assaulted,\u201d adding that Weston needed to receive \u201cthe help he desperately needs.\u201d<\/p>\n

She alleges her son attacked her in the elevator of his condo building, lobby and parking lot, causing \u201csevere and life-threatening injuries.\u201d She also says the incident hurt her \u201cthriving career as a former model, actress and entrepreneur.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fulton alleges Cage took \u201ccharge\u201d of Weston by giving him financial support, bailing him out of jail multiple times and that he took part in \u201cdrinking alcohol with Weston, despite knowing his substance abuse issues and history of violent outbursts.\u201d<\/p>\n
