Security cameras and locked-up products are all things Keith Horn has implemented to keep his business secure.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are not shoppable like some of the other hotels,\u201d Horn said.<\/p>\n
Horn owns the Northern Hotel on Main Street and is also the president of North End BIZ.<\/p>\n
While he doesn\u2019t see lots of theft at his establishment, other area businesses aren\u2019t so lucky and they all pay the cost.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe insurance has gone up a lot over the years. It\u2019s harder and harder to get insurance in this area because of the area, the fires, the crime,\u201d Horn said.<\/p>\n
He says North End BIZ membership has suffered as a result.<\/p>\n
\u201cTen years ago there were 110, now there\u2019s 57,\u201d Horn said.<\/p>\n

Since then, owner and operator Rui Dias says there haven\u2019t been many issue.<\/p>\n
\u201cDoor locks have been changed, security camera got a little bit better. Cameras have been upgraded. Locks have been changed in the back. Stronger steel door,\u201d Dias said.<\/p>\n
But he says more police presence would be helpful.<\/p>\n
