A lawsuit against Jay-Z<\/a> and Sean \u201cDiddy\u201d Combs<\/a> over the alleged rape of a\u00a013-year-old girl<\/a> at a party in 2000 has been dismissed by the lawyer representing the Jane Doe, according to court filings.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n In December, the unidentified woman added Jay-Z, whose legal name is Shawn Carter, to a lawsuit she had filed against Combs in Manhattan federal court, alleging she was attacked by the singers in 2000 after Combs\u2019 limo driver offered her a ride to an MTV Video Music Awards afterparty.<\/p>\n The court document submitted by the woman\u2019s lawyers announcing the voluntary dismissal did not include any reasons or explanation for the withdrawal. The lawsuit was voluntarily dismissed with prejudice, which means the plantiff cannot refile the some complaint in court.<\/p>\n Story continues below advertisement<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n Jay-Z, who vehemently denied the claims and tried to get extracted from the lawsuit, called the woman\u2019s decision to withdraw her claim \u201ca victory\u201d and said the \u201cfictional tale\u201d she and her lawyers created was \u201claughable.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThe frivolous, fictitous and appalling allegations have been dismissed,\u201d he said in a statement posted on social media. \u201cThis civil suit was without merit and never going anywhere.\u201d<\/p>\n For news impacting Canada and around the world, sign up for breaking news alerts delivered directly to you when they happen.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n \u201cThe trauma that my wife, my children, loved ones and I have endured can never be dismissed,\u201d Jay-Z added. \u201cThe 1-800 lawyer gets to file a suit hiding behind Jane Doe, and when they quickly realize that the money grab is going to fail, they get to walk away with no repercussions. The system has failed.\u201d<\/p>\n Jay-Z said that the court \u201cmust protect victims\u201d but the court also has the \u201csame ethical responsibility\u201d to \u201cprotect the innocent from being accused without a shred of evidence.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cMay the truth prevail for all victims and those falsely accused equally,\u201d he concluded.<\/p>\n Story continues below advertisement<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n Jay-Z\u2019s lawyer Alex Spiro issued an individual statement, writing: \u201cThe false case against Jay-Z, that never should have been brought, has been dismissed with prejudice.
