The latest job numbers released by Statistics Canada show a city in Alberta has the highest unemployment rate of any major Canadian city.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

According to the January report, Red Deer tops the list with the unemployment rate sitting at 9.7 per cent. That\u2019s down slightly by 10 per cent from December.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, in the province\u2019s two largest cities, unemployment rates stayed steady.<\/p>\n

The report shows Edmonton hit 7.2 per cent in January \u2013 down 0.3 per cent from December.<\/p>\n

Calgary shows a more noticeable change dropping to 7.7 per cent in January from 8.1 per cent in December.<\/p>\n

All three cities are above the national average of 6.6 per cent.<\/p>\n
