But the case was quickly adjourned to the dismay of the victim\u2019s family and friends.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Twenty-three-year-old <a href=\"https:\/\/globalnews.ca\/tag\/alfred-okyere\">Alfred Okyere<\/a> was found by police at DSI Underground on the corner of Millar Avenue and 70th Street on Jan. 20.<\/p>\n<p>When they arrived, police found Okyere suffering from stab wounds. The decision comes as Leclaire moves to a private lawyer.<\/p>\n<div class=\"c-ad c-ad--bigbox l-article__ad\">\n<p>Story continues below advertisement<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>\u201cWe were kind of surprised,\u201d Victor Yeke, the Ghana Canadian Association President said. \u201cWe all took a day off to come to the court to see what would happen. People came here to call (Saskatoon) home, and they are wondering if this is supposed to be home for them,\u201d Yeke said.<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday, the community gathered for a vigil to remember him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe were surprised by the number of people that came and we were grateful that police were there because that gives us assurance,\u201d Yeke explained.<\/p>\n<p>Okyere marks Saskatoon\u2019s first reported homicide of the year.
